Jimmy Espinoza of Thee Midniters – Interview

As a warm up to our free concert tonight featuring Thee Midniters performing live at Levitt Pavilion MacArthur Park, we proudly present an interview with founding member Jimmy Espinoza conducted by Ganas. This legendary East LA band erupted onto the scene in the mid-60’s with an explosive rock sound. Their cover of “Land of a Thousand Dances” is considered the ultimate version of the widely covered tune and their instrumental blazer “Whittier Boulevard” is a regional anthem. This hour long conversation with Jimmy Espinoza sheds light on this highly influential group and throughout the show, Ganas shares songs showcasing the broad range of the band. To explore further, pick up the anthology Thee Complete Midniters: Songs of Love, Rhythm and Psychedelia or get digging for their 45’s on Whittier Records. Thanks to Jimmy for his time and positive energy keeping Thee Midniters message shining brightly!
